Each year, our identified gifted and talented students present their fall project to the school and community.  The students are encouraged to choose a topic to explore, envision, and create.

Attendance Matters!

• Please arrive on time
• Schedule student appointments for after school
• Set a goal of no more than 3 absences for the school year

The tardy bell rings at 7:35 and tardy slips will be issued at 7:36.

Pre-K Attendance
It is extremely important that children begin good attendance habits early in life. Research confirms that many times a child's success or failure in school is directly related to their attendance. Parents/guardians please remember that enrollment in the Galena Park ISD Prekindergarten program is voluntary. However, once a child is enrolled, Tice Elementary attendance policies apply. You can contribute to the success of your child by helping him or her to maintain regular school attendance.

Attendance Incentives
• Perfect Attendance certificates will be given to students at the end of every quarterly grading period, and students will attend a quarterly celebration.
• Grade level recognition every morning and popcorn parties for the grade with the highest percentage of the week.
• Classroom percentage competitions.

The Tiger Girls were established in 2024 by the current director, Mrs. Jasmine Thomas Reed. Dancers on the team are student athletes and must maintain passing grades to remain on the team. The Tiger Girls practice twice a week, increasing to 2-3 times a week during competition season. They also participate in multiple community events throughout the school year. Being a member of this team is more than just glitz and glamour; the Tiger Girls are held to a high standard and are expected to treat everyone with respect. Team members are taught values, such as responsibility, discipline, work ethic, and character. Interested in joining the team? There are limited spots for Tiger Girls each year. Tryouts are open to all incoming 4th and 5th-grade students at Tice Elementary and are held at the end of the school year. An informational parent meeting will take place a few weeks before the tryouts. Stay tuned for more details!
